Start with the getting-ready schedule

The Delamater House lists separate getting-ready spaces: The Cottage and The Bungalow. Check the access time for each before setting your photography start time. If both of you want getting-ready coverage, we should know when each room will be occupied and when everyone needs to be dressed.

Set aside the things you want photographed before the room gets busy. Having the rings, invitations, and any personal keepsakes in one place lets us spend less time looking for them. I'd also leave a little room in the schedule for a parent or friend helping with the final touches.

Choose a few garden portraits you care about

The landscaped grounds give us a reason to step outside for portraits. We don't need to visit every corner of the property. I'd choose a small number of spots based on the light and how easily we can get there in wedding clothes.

If you're wearing a long train, allow a little extra time to move and settle it between photographs. For family portraits, a nearby, easy-to-reach spot matters more than a long list of backgrounds. We can save any extra walking for your couple portraits, if that's something you want.

Photographing the barn reception and the end of the night

The move from garden portraits to a barn reception changes the light and the pace of the photographs. I'd like to know when the room will be finished so I can photograph it before guests settle in. After that, the attention can move to the people in it.
