Chasing the Golden Hour: Isabella’s Port Orange Senior Portraits
Soft light. Open fields. A Florida sunset. There is something so timeless about a senior session that doesn't feel over-produced. For Isabella’s portraits, we headed to one of my favorite local spots in Port Orange to take advantage of the wide-open spaces and that gorgeous, hazy evening light.
A Relaxed, Natural Approach
Isabella’s session was the perfect example of why I love outdoor senior photography. Instead of rigid posing, we kept things simple and natural. We spent the afternoon just walking around the park, stopping whenever the light hit a certain way or a backdrop felt right.
This "walk and talk" style is my favorite way to work with seniors. It takes the pressure off and allows for those genuine expressions to come through. Isabella was a complete natural in front of the camera, and her effortless style paired perfectly with the rustic, grassy fields of the park.
Chasing the Daylight
As the sun began to dip lower, we found ourselves chasing the last bit of daylight. That final 20 minutes of golden hour is when the magic really happens. The glow across the fields created a soft, dreamy atmosphere that made Isabella’s portraits feel both modern and classic.
We walked away with so many incredible shots that truly captured this milestone in her life.
