Backyard Family Photos in New Smyrna Beach
There’s something special about photographing families in a place that already feels like home. Jon, Sarah, and David invited me to capture their family photos right in their backyard in New Smyrna Beach, and it couldn’t have been a better choice.
The evening light filtered through the trees and gave everything that soft golden glow that makes Florida sunsets so unique. Their little boy, David, was full of energy, running around, climbing, and playing with his toy truck and swing. Every moment felt natural, full of laughter and little in-between expressions that show what family life is really about.
We also made sure to include their dog, who clearly didn’t want to miss out on the fun. From chasing after David to joining the family in a few group photos, it added even more life to the session.
Sessions like this are my favorite — simple, genuine, and full of connection. Just a family spending time together in their own space, with the warm light of New Smyrna Beach wrapping around them.
